Some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the world is situated in Southern Patagonia, covering both Chile and Argentina. Perhaps Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is more famous than the nearby Los Glaciares National Park at El Chalten in Argentina, however they are equally impressive. My suggestion is to visit both.
At Torres del Paine you may choose to stay in the park at the luxurious Explora resort, or nearby at the wonderful La Tierra Hotel. Both are all inclusive, including all meals, many drinks, most activities, and transfers. There are great opportunities to enjoy guided hikes and horseback riding around the park, as well as cycling nearby, and visiting local ranches.
At the end of the day return to the comfort of your resort, enjoy the spa, and relax with some of the world’s most spectacular scenery around you.
This trip is ideally combined with a different, but equally spectacular experience in El Chalten in Argentina. The drive takes a few hours to reach this lively mountain village, where there are a variety of small hotels and haciendas to stay at and various stunning day hikes into the Fitzroy and Cerro Torre ranges, and to Lago del Desierto.
